We want to support the psychiatric outpatient care and rehabilitation of children and young people in Latvia. Our colleagues offer treatment and social councelling for youngsters and their families who otherwise would fail to grasp their opportunities in life because of actual difficulties and inadequacy of available support.In the beginning we are working as a team of an administrator, a lawyer and few psychotherapists.
All the necessary supervision for the work is provided by our company. To what extent we can fulfil our task depends on the financial aid we receive. The service is practically free of charge for the clients and no profit will be gained by our company.
Film festival
Kari Tuhkanen was the coordinator for Estonia and Latvia on behalf of the Fifth European Psychoanalytic Film Festival organised by the British Psychoanalytic Society in London 29 October - 1 November, 2009. He will continue his task until the sixth festival in the year 2011 when the title is probably the theme about emigration.For the first time Baltic films were to be seen on this well-known international forum, where film makers together with psychoanalysts discuss the themes wakened by this form of art.
The film "Somnambuul" directed by Estonian Sulev Keedus and the panel was welcomed by the audience. The whole festival has become the most important "meeting point" between filmmakers and psychotherapists. The members in this panel were critic Karlo Funk from Estonia and psychoanalysts Camilla Bargum and Kari Tuhkanen from Finland.
